Turnstile - Never Enough Versions
Turnstile’s Never Enough Version Reimagined is a 22-song collection of covers, remixes and collaborations of Turnstile’s Grammy winning album Never Enough album with a wide selection of artists:
Elton John, Slayyyter, Dying Fetus, Porches, Hayley Williams, A. G. Cook, Floating Points, Rod Lee, Kettama, Mustafa, Julien Baker, Panda Bear, Brandon Woody, Four Tet, Dan Deacon, Blood Orange, Chanel Beads, Faye Webster, Angel Du$t, Shabaka, Oklou, Nourished By Time, and Alex G.
Porches sets Never Enough Reimagined off with a likable understated folk-pop cover of Never Enough. A couple songs later, and some techno – I feel like I’m organically standing at Short North gay clubs Axis and The Union. The Union and Axis are places I’ve chilled with Turnstile’s Franz Lyons. Turnstile is from Baltimore. Franz Lyons is from Columbus. I usually don’t really like the music at Axis or the Union.
Franz isn’t homophobic. This isn’t contrived. I understand Never Enough reimagined is authentic. I also don’t really need to listen to Turnstile acknowledging they’ve heard queer techno music.
The entire album doesn’t sound like WNCI queer techno.
The bulk of Never Enough Reimagined is interesting. Never Enough Reimagined sounds like Turnstile took Charli XCX’s Turnstile Summer Declaration as opportunity for documenting their friends playing their music.

Blood Orange - Light Design
Devonte Hynes is another one of those instrumentalists who knows Tyler, The Creator, A$ap Rocky, and Project Pat. Blood Orange is like if a Stevie Wonder student wanted the Clams Casino ambience of 3-6 Mafia songs.
Devonte Hynes’ previously worked with Turnstile, Tame Impala and on Paul McCartney Reimagined.
Mustafa and Julien Baker- Time is Happening
I don’t know anything about Mustafa except he organized benefits for Sudan and Gaza.
Faye Webster - I Care
Faye Webster is Turnstile’s drummer Daniel Fang’s love interest. Faye’s version of I Care compliments Porches folk-pop entry of Never Enough Reimagined.
Alex G - Magic Man
Alex is known for Frank Ocean songs and is opening for Phoebe Bridges September 22 at Nationwide Arena.
OkLou - Light Design
Oklou is a French Dream Pop singer whose worked with Due Lipa, and Charli XCX’s and A.G. Cook
Brandon Woody - Dreaming
Brandon Woody will appeal to you if you liked Turnstile’s jazz music with BadBadNotGood.
Rod Lee - Never Enough
Rod Lee is a legend in Baltimore Club Music. Baltimore Club is a raunchy Dance music like Detroit’s Booty House or Miami Bass. I kept wondering if Rod Lee would remix a Turnstile song into a sex chant. Rod Lee didn’t but Rod’s version of Next Enough is still fun.
Panda Beer - Magic Man
Animal Collective’s Panda Bear song sounds like Panda Bear saw Baltimore Club legend Rod Lee was involved and made a Pet Sounds Lynn Collins song.
Nourished By Time - Sunshower
Sounds like TV on The Radio making Glitch music.
Nourished By Time is a Prince/Arthur Russell influenced artist from Baltimore. Nourish By Time released an album called Erotic Probiotic 2 via XL Records.
Dying Fetus - Birds
Dying Fetus answers the Turnstile Grammy metal question: A hardcore song becomes metal song with a rendition of Birds which sounds like Slayer with Death Metal vocals.
AG Cook - Dull
Charli XCX’s producer’s version of Dull sounds like Cook saw Dying Fetus’ name and made an industrial song which teases a dubstep whistle but lands at El-P drums so AG Cook doesn’t irritate me.
Elton John - Seeing Stars
Elton John replaces Paramore’s Haley Willams. Elton gives the song a stand-out vocal rendition. We wondered if Elton would land Turnstile on WNCI. I think Elton John will probably play the Grammys with Turnstile.

Hayley Williams - Ceiling
Paramore’s Hayley Williams song is my favorite because it sounds like Williams saw Panda Bear’s name and recorded her idea of an Animal Collective song.
